Judge not, least ye be judged?
Judgement, what does it mean to lay judgement? Or to be judgmental? Ment come from the Latin word ment which means mind. So judgment means judgemind. So what does Judge mean? In law a judge is someone who comes to a decision based on facts and evidence. So to judge is not to do wrong, but to come to a decision. Although to lay judgment upon someone else can be wrong, for to lay judgment is to allow another person’s state of mind to control your decisions, actions & behaviour.
The concept of not judging others has swept through society. Most people have heard this quote at some point in their life, some people live by it, & other people just use this concept when it is advantageous. “You can’t judge me!” Is sometimes spoken in anger. “Judge not, least ye be judged” No one knows for sure what Jesus meant when he apparently said these words, though now I will attempt to explain what I assume is meant by this quote.
For me, not to judge is impossible. Our judgement is our curse and our responsibility, but to lay judgment on another person’s actions without knowing in full the background of this person is a foolish waste of energy. I assume the elaboration of this quote may go something like this; Do not judge another person on their actions, until you yourself are in this position, first judge yourself.
How often do people lay judgment on themselves? I can only assume but I would say all too often, & not often enough. It is foolish for self-judgment to be harsh, but it can be prosperous to comprehend why we acted the way we did, simply for future correction. “Judge not, least ye be judged” to me this does not mean judge not, this means judge a lot. To judge oneself is to be self-aware, being self-aware or conscious is in my opinion the most important part of being a human being. The sub-conscious programming of hollow men is destroying our home, it’s time to wake up and be conscious.
